Introduction
A strong GMAT score can significantly enhance your MBA application, potentially opening doors to top business schools and competitive scholarships. By carefully planning and utilizing available resources, you can make the GMAT experience more financially manageable while maximizing your chances of success. If you need to cancel your GMAT appointment, there may be fees involved, depending on when you cancel. As of my last update, here’s a general overview of the cancellation fees for the GMAT:
GMAT Cost – How much does it cost?
1. GMAT Test Cost Breakdown
The GMAT test price is $275, which encompasses the cost of registering for the exam, taking the exam, and sending your score reports to up to five MBA programs of your choice. This fee applies only to the online test center version of the exam. The online version costs $300.
2. GMAT Cancellation Fees
The GMAT cancellation fee varies depending on how far in advance you cancel your exam. If you’re taking the test at a test center, you’ll receive a $110 refund if you cancel more than 60 days in advance, a partial refund of $80 if you cancel between 15 and 60 days prior, and a partial refund of $55 if you cancel 14 days or less. For online GMAT cancellations, you’ll receive a $120 refund if you cancel more than 60 days in advance, a partial refund of $90 if you cancel between 15 and 60 days prior, and a partial refund of $60 if you cancel 14 days or less. If you cancel within 24 hours or less of your scheduled GMAT appointment, you won’t receive a refund.
3. GMAT Reschedule Fees
As you can see, the fees are higher for rescheduling your exam closer to the test date. This is because the testing centers and Pearson VUE, the company that delivers the GMAT online, have to incur more costs to accommodate your request. Here are some additional things to keep in mind about GMAT reschedule fees:
- If you reschedule your exam more than 60 days before your appointment, you will be charged $60.
- If you reschedule your exam between 15 and 60 days before your appointment, you will be charged a fee of $110 or $120, depending on the delivery method.
- If you reschedule your exam 14 days or less before your appointment, you will be charged a fee of $165 or $180, depending on the delivery method.
4. Learn why private lessons are the best choice
Private lessons offer students the flexibility to schedule classes whenever is convenient for them, as well as the opportunity to cover the material at a fast pace, so they can take the exam in a short period of time. Unlike group lessons, private lessons are one-on-one, so the instructor can tailor the instruction to the student’s individual needs and learning style. Additionally, because private lessons are conducted 100% online, students can learn from the comfort of their own homes. Finally, the instructor can customize the number and type of homework exercises and examples to ensure that the student fully understands each concept before moving on to the next section of the material.
5. How to get the most out of online GMAT tutoring:
To get the most out of online tutoring, it is important to be prepared for your sessions. Come to each lesson with a list of questions or topics that you want to cover. Be sure to also complete any homework assignments that your tutor gives you. During your sessions, be sure to participate actively and ask questions. Your tutor is there to help you learn, so do not be afraid to ask for clarification or additional support. After your sessions, be sure to review your notes and practice the material that you covered. This will help you to solidify your understanding of the concepts and to improve your score.
